We don't talk much about the rocky road that is lactation. Support and Education are key. A Peer Breastfeeding Counsellor, now studying to become a Lactation Consultant. I share some nuggets.

What to eat, what to skip, what to never ever forget. Our body is a whole new animal postpartum. At times such, it is essential to load up on some nutrients more than the other.

It's even better if you like to cook. Some do, others don't. I feel like I fall somewhere in the middle.

I entered the kitchen at the age of 9 to make tea and never looked back. Even though I didn’t start cooking and baking until much later, the kitchen has been very close to my heart because I LOVE TO EAT! Click here for my favourite recipes

#SassiDiaries

This is a hashtag that gained popularity amongst my own circle and nudged me to take this blog seriously. I wanted a place that will be my Motherhood Den (See Mamas are Human).

Feminist Mama

Feminism for me is Humanism. Just for women. Human Rights for women is the baseline concept for Feminism. I frankly don’t know another way to live than treat all human beings as equals including women. If smashing patriarchy is your sport of choice, click here for a “Kalaija Thanda” Experience

Mamas Are HumaN

I write to be reminded of what being a new mom felt like. To be reminded of the rapturous joy my child brings to me every day of my life.

I do this so my child can one day read and know that a woman is as multi faceted as it comes and it is fine to be who you are. To not just project ONE aspect of your life but all of it.

Because that is human.

Raising Sassi

Raising this child of mine is perhaps the biggest honour I have been bestowed with. She is fun, she is intelligent, she is wise, she is a child with the regular tantrums and the need for cake or a boti at 12 am but with all of that together, she makes this journey cracking with fun if you ask me.

Breastfeeding is referred to as the most natural thing to the extent that no one talks about the issues pretty much everyone faces through it. Education and Support is severely lacking in this area. Lactation is an entire science in itself, one that I am now formally studying.
